Services - Workshop Facilitation

We have been heavily involved in long-term cultural transformation work with several high profile companies in Australia.

This work has covered the diagnostic phase, the design phase and ultimately the delivery of tailor made workshops, coaching and a variety of interventions aimed at shifting organisations to the next level of performance and improving the quality of the culture.

Our corporate facilitation work can be tailored to meet your needs from designing and delivering one-off workshops to encompassing organisational wide programs that cascade throughout entire organisations.  Common themes that we have facilitated across organisations include:

  • strategic planning;

  • performance improvement;

  • organisational-wide culture change and transformation;

  • team alignment;

  • leadership development

We also offer facilitate leadership and team-based programs with content a little ‘left-of-field’ including:

  • The Hero’s Journey - to explore the stages and challenges implicit in transformational journeys that either individuals, teams or organisations embark upon utilising mythology and key leadership archetypes.

  • Martial Arts - as a metaphor for leadership development and its’ underpinning philosophy and principles as a guide to improve team performance. This includes the study and application of such principles as Flow, Centredness, Mindfulness, Engagement, Adaptability and Focus.

  • Story Telling – as a vehicle for effective communication.

  • Group Drumming - as a medium to enhance team dynamics and creativity and an opportunity to experience colloboration and success in a very different way

Facilitation involves the following 3 phases:

1. Diagnostic Phase

The essential intent of this phase is to ‘discover’ what specifically is required and articulating the desired outcomes. Typically it involves improving performance in some dimension at a team or organisational level. This provides a context and direction for this phase of the process.

This process may focus on surfacing what is working really well within an organisation and exploring how to amplify this and/or what needs to change. This process may simply be a series of interviews with key people designed to generate insights and themes for change or, it may involve a more holistic process which includes using organisational diagnostic tools such as LSI or Barrett’s Values Inventory.

2. Design Phase

Building on the Diagnostic phase, we then co-design a path forward that is tailored to your expectations, needs and specifications. This may range from providing a one-off workshop, to a far more extensive series of interventions with far larger scope and scale.

The content of such workshops is drawn from an extensive range of best-practice methodologies, concepts and processes that have been used successfully in many parts of the world.

Some of these methodologies include Appreciative Inquiry, Robert Cialdini’s research around the science of Influence and the work of Martin Seligman based around the power of positive psychology.

3. Delivery Phase

This represents the actual experience of the workshop/offsite event, where the intent is to ‘deliver’ on the outcomes first envisaged in the discovery phase. This may represent just a simple intervention such as a half day process based around team improvement or could stretch out over years as a series of development workshops gets cascaded throughout an organisation.

With larger scale processes we often work as a team of facilitators and coaches. The delivery phase often includes follow up processes designed to embed the desired shifts and changes into how individuals and teams function.
